ETC Profile
Overview
In 1983, the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturer's Association (TEEMA), and public enterprises collectively promoted the establishment of ETC. |
ETC was previously one division of Electronics Research and Service Organization (ERSO) of Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). |
ETC is a non-profit organization and under the surveillance of Bureau of Standards, Metrology & Inspection (BSMI), the MOEA of the Republic of China. ETC was established as a specialized and equitable inspection/certification Institute. |
More than 80% of fund was donated by the Government when established. Some representatives of the Board come from BFT (Bureau of Foreign Trade), IDB (Industrial Development Bureau), BSMI and IPO (Intellectual Property Office). |

ETC is accredited as a certification body by BSMI, NCC (National Communications Commission) and Taiwan EPA. ETC is also the first non-governmental RPC Certification Body in Taiwan. |

ETC is a designated laboratory by BSMI and NCC for safety and EMC testing. |

ETC is granted as a CBTL for safety and EMC testing by IECEE. |

ETC is authorized by BSMI to carry out inspection and type testing for legal measuring instruments. |

ETC is entrusted by JQA to perform S-JQA mark and F mark in Taiwan and China, and entrusted by CQC to perform factory inspection for China CCC in Taiwan. |

ETC is the only one lab in Asia and one of three labs in the world to perform USB/SATA/ VESA DP C&C Verification and Testing. |

ETC is an US EPA-recognized laboratory for the ENERGY STAR program. |
