Without good analysis, many aspects of our health, welfare, quality of life and the environment would be at greater risk. For instance, we use analytical techniques to detect pollutants in the environment or find substances in the electrical & electronics equipments (WEEE). Analytical technology is central to issues such as: safety value of products, water and other drinks, consumer product safety and toxic analysis, environmental monitoring and risk assessment, new product development and product quality.

The most important stand point of ETC, as a think tank is to be totally independent from all sectors of the society. As the Taiwan's leading independent provider of analytical and consultant services, ETC offers chemical and restriction of hazardous substances for the electronic & electrical industries, semiconductor industries, telecom & Intelligence Company, and chemical industries analysis, research, method validation, consultancy and analytical outsourcing. ETC also cooperate with academic & government to develop reference standards throughout Taiwan on behalf of leading organization such as EPA and BSMI.

To meet the increased demand of testing services, ETC expanded into the environmental field. ETC's Products Testing Laboratories was established in 2000 in order to develop analytical methods based on photo spectrometry, chromatography, and mass spectrometry. It developed a specific know-how in the determination of trace level organic compounds in various complex matrices (e.g. polymer, plastics, rubbers, consumer products, electrical & electronic waste, and restricted of hazardous substances). Also it was continuously making an effort on research and development of testing technology. Today 55% of ETC's laboratory work is associated with products analyses on electrical and electronic waste and restriction of hazardous substances for WEEE & RoHS

Over the years, ETC has maintained high standards of quality and follows ISO/17025, US EPA published procedures and ISO/17025, US EPA QA/QC guidelines. ETC is known internationally accreditation in products of technical safety, environmental protection and certification to assure compliance with both national and international standards. Also we have done analytical work for numerous foreign manufacture of electrical and electronics equipment such as Sony, Panasonic, and so on.

ETC's Green Products Testing Laboratory is currently applied for accredited by Chinese National Laboratory Accreditation (CNLA) of Taiwan, R.O.C. as a certificated chemical laboratory. And also we have planned to certify by internationally accreditation in products of environmental protection and certification to assure compliance with both national and international standards.
